Tonight will be a night of candles and classics for an intimate gathering of friends and others. Think Schumann, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, and a handful of the neo-classicists, Einaudi and Yiruma. Something different to begin a new year and a new chapter.
Another exhibition at the fabulous Redland centre for performing arts! This is an annual event for Redland's Creative Alliance artists that showcases the incredible work of local artists, artisans - oh, and musicians. I'll take the first set from 6.30pm - see you there!

Michael Mills
Michael, who is a jazz musician of many years standing describes his improvisational style as musical painting. He says he particularly likes to play at art exhibition openings and has performed throughout Queensland at venues like Brisbane’s Custom House, the One Hundred Acre Bar, Sebel Hotels, Ocean View Winery, Topiaries at Beaumont House Resort, Phoenix Sculpture Garden and others. He has also released several CDs of his original music, including Who I Am, and The Heart Knows.

Georgie Taylor is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Redlands Coast who writes and performs her original music. She is recognised by industry peers as an emerging artist, skilled in many areas of the arts, particularly songwriting and musical theatre. Georgie has just released her debut EP ’The Deep’.
Bay Samba
Formed in 2014, Bay Samba is a robust and raucous, Brazilian carnival/street drumming band of 10 drummers. They’ll delight you with the exciting 'Sounds of Carnival' street drumming!
Ruby Phoenix
Ruby Phoenix Tribe or RPT is a tribal fusion bellydance troupe who are a little eclectic, blending other dance styles in to the mix; a little Tahitian, Latin and Bollywood, just to keep things interesting. They'll dance to their own music and to the drums of Bay Samba.

The annual Redlands Museum exhibition is here again, in the Dun Wing of the museum. This year's theme is the 'naturally wonderful' coast of the Redlands area, and will feature 2D and 3D works - all for sale. The annual Oysters and Jazz event at Tingira Boat Club promises to be a fantastic event this year with Michael heading up the lineup on jazz keyboard. And we're back at RQAS for another solo gig of improvised piano. If you enjoy melodic neo-classical music in the style of Einaudi Ludovico and Tony O'Connor, then come along and experience two art forms at a free event for the exhibition opening (with the inimitable Francis Giacco judging).
